Vision:

Economics is basically a subject  of  social science . The goal and vision of our department is :
1) To provide undergraduate students a quality education so that they can contribute to the society in a large scale.
2) To increase research interests among the students. 
3)To encourage the students for active participation in the classroom discussion  on recent economic issues.

Program Outcome:

At the end of the course the student will have the ability :

1)To communicate effectively with the society.

2)To analyse and interpret data properly.

3) To have an insight knowledge about money-banking, entrepreneurship development, rural development and the development process of the overall economy.

The course helps the students to gather knowledge  on the following issues and to communicate effectively with the society.

ECOG, CC/GE1,CO1: what is economics, how the market forces of demand-supply work, consumer behaviour, producer behaviour, perfect competition vs monopoly, input market. 

ECOG,CC/GE2,CO2: GDP,GNP,calculation procedure of NI,nominal vs real variables, SKM vs Classical model,how the money market works,inflation, basic issues of international trade- absolute and comparative advantage. 

ECOG,CC/GE3,CO3:development and its difference with growth,developed vs developing countries, issue of poverty and inequality, Lewis Model,role of IMF,WB,WTO and their role in economic development. 

ECOG,CC/GE4,CO4:policies and performance of Indian economy specially in agriculture, industry and foreign trade.

ECOG,DSE 5 A1,CO5A1:money supply and indian banking system,interest rates,central bank and its monetary policy-demonetisation and its impact.

ECOG, DSE 5 A2,CO5A2: sustainable development. 

ECOG, DSE 6 B1, CO6B1:public finance, market failure and externalities. 

ECOG, DSE 6 B2, CO6B2:economic history of India(1857-1947), trends in agriculture, railways,industry and trade.
